The Imamzadeh Ismail and Shayah Mosque, located in Isfahan, Iran, is a Twelver Shi'ite religious complex that blends architectural elements from the Seljuk and Safavid periods. Originally a pre-Islamic building converted to a mosque during the Rashidun conquest of Persia, it became known as Shayah Mosque under Seljuk rule. Following the Safavid takeover, the structure was substantially expanded with the addition of a sahn (courtyard) and the construction of the imamzadeh (mausoleum). Built with tile, plaster, and brick, the complex reflects the decorative and structural traditions of both eras and has been recognized as part of Iran's National Heritage since 1932.
