Immanuel Church stands in central Stockholm at the intersection of Birger Jarlsgatan and Kungstensgatan, a striking example of 1970s modernist architecture designed by Sture Frölén and completed in 1974. Built on the site of a former tram depot as part of a larger development project spanning 1970–1974 that also included offices and a hotel, the church exemplifies the brutalist aesthetic through its bold use of reinforced concrete and brick. According to the Stockholm City Museum, the building holds great historical value and represents a significant achievement in Scandinavian modernist church design.
