The Izadkhast Caravanserai, located in Fars Province, Iran, is a 17th-century roadside inn built during the reign of Abbas the Great in Safavid architectural style. Constructed from rubble, mortar, and brick and rising to a height of 10 meters, it once provided rest and provisions for merchants and travelers traversing the ancient Silk Road. Situated in a natural basin below the nearby Izadkhast Castle, the caravanserai forms part of a larger historical complex that has been designated as an Iranian National Heritage site. It ranks among just 25 caravanserais recognized on the UNESCO List of Persian Caravanserai, and the Izadkhast complex as a whole has been nominated to the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage status since 2007.
