The Jackson County Courthouse stands on Main Street in Newport, Arkansas, serving as the county seat's civic centerpiece since 1892. This Late Victorian brick structure features a distinctive protruding three-story square tower and ranks among the state's oldest courthouses. Though apparently modeled in part on the now-demolished Ouachita County courthouse, its architect remains unknown. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
