The Jardinette Apartments, a four-story apartment building in Hollywood designed by modernist architect Richard Neutra, stands as a pioneering work of early American modernism. Completed in 1928 as Neutra's first commission in the United States, the building is recognized as one of the first Modernist structures in America and has been called "America's first multi-family, International-style building." Its significance earned it listing on the National Register of Historic Places and designation as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. Now known as Marathon Apartments, the building remains an exemplary early work of International Style residential architecture.
