The Wattles Mansion, formally known as Jualita, is a Mission Revival mansion built in 1907 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, designed by architect Elmer Grey for Omaha banker Gurdon Wattles as a winter residence. Set within a complex of gardens, the estate represents the rare surviving example of Hollywood's pre-film-industry era, when the area was primarily agricultural and served as a winter retreat for wealthy Easterners and Midwesterners. The property was donated to the city in 1968 and converted into Wattles Garden Park, operated by the Department of Recreation and Parks. Recognized as possessing genuine integrity of setting, design, and workmanship, the mansion and gardens were designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1993.
