The John Muir Branch Library, a branch of the Los Angeles Public Library, was designed by architect Henry F. Withey and completed in 1930 in the Mediterranean Revival style. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 as part of a thematic group submission of Los Angeles branch libraries, the building sustained earthquake damage that forced its temporary relocation to a mini-mall. After restoration, the historic library reopened in 1997 and is also designated as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument.
