This Queen Anne-style railway depot, built in 1885 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, served the Kansas City, Fort Scott and Memphis Railroad. The station exemplifies the ornamental character typical of late nineteenth-century American railroad architecture, with the decorative detailing and asymmetrical forms characteristic of the Queen Anne style. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building remains a significant record of the region's railroad heritage during the era when rail lines were expanding through the Ozark region.
