The Karlskirche is a Baroque church located on the Karlsplatz in Vienna, Austria, dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, a leading figure of the Counter-Reformation. Designed by Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach and Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, the church was begun in 1716 and stands on the border between the Wieden district and the Innere Stadt, Vienna's historic centre. The building exemplifies Baroque architecture with Rococo elements, and is listed among Austria's heritage structures.
