Karusato Ōtsuka Kofun is a zenpō-kōen-fun (keyhole-shaped burial mound) constructed around 500 CE in Habikino, Japan. This Imperial mausoleum exemplifies the distinctive architectural form characteristic of kofun—large earthen tumuli that dominated Japanese burial practices during the Kofun period. The zenpō-kōen-fun configuration, featuring a circular rear section joined to a rectangular fore section, was reserved for elite burials. The site is now part of a UNESCO World Heritage designation, reflecting its historical significance in understanding early Japanese funerary architecture and imperial burial customs.
