Khan Madrasa in Shiraz is a madrasa, or Islamic educational institution, that represents the architectural traditions of two successive Persian dynasties. Built in the Safavid and Qajar periods, it exemplifies the ornamental and structural conventions of these eras, employing brick and mortar as its primary structural materials while incorporating decorative tilework characteristic of Iranian palatial and religious architecture. As an Iranian National Heritage site, the building preserves an important record of educational and cultural life in Shiraz during the early modern period.
