Kirjatalo, a commercial building designed by Alvar Aalto and completed in 1969, occupies a prominent corner site at the intersection of Pohjoisesplanadi and Keskuskatu in central Helsinki. The structure, whose name translates to "Book House," is home to the flagship store of the Academic Bookstore chain and has become notable as one of Aalto's later works in the Finnish capital.
