La Pagoda, officially the Laboratorios Jorba building, was a landmark structure in Madrid designed by Spanish architect Miguel Fisac and completed in 1967. Located near Avenida de América, this brutalist pharmaceutical headquarters earned its popular name from its distinctive formal language: each floor rotated 45 degrees from the one below, creating a pagoda-like silhouette unified by hyperboloid ruled surfaces. The building became recognized as an architectural icon of the city before its controversial demolition in 1999.
