Letoon was an ancient Greek sanctuary dedicated to Leto, situated 4 kilometres south of the city of Xanthos in the Fethiye district of Turkey's Muğla Province, along the Xanthos River. Though never a fully-occupied settlement, it served as one of the region's most important religious centres. The site was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.
