Liberty Hall is a Victorian house built in 1881 in Lamoni, Iowa, by local carpenter Thomas Jacobs in a vernacular style. The residence served as the home of Joseph Smith III during his tenure as president and prophet of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when the denomination's headquarters were located in Lamoni. After Smith departed in 1906 when the church relocated to Independence, Missouri, the building was renamed Liberty Home and converted to serve aged church members. The property subsequently housed a Holstein dairy operation from 1926 until 1932 and a Civilian Conservation Corps office from 1934 to 1941, before returning to its role as a church home. The Community of Christ, the modern name of the denomination, restored the building beginning in 1973 to its appearance during Smith's occupancy and now operates it as a museum. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
