The Llotja de Sant Jordi is an underground exhibit hall in Alcoi, Valencian Community, designed by Santiago Calatrava and completed in 1995. Located beneath Plaça d'Espanya, the building features Calatrava's signature parabolic arches in white, reminiscent of skeletal ribs and echoing Gaudí's organic style. Despite its subterranean setting, the space benefits from natural lighting, while ingenious hydraulic mechanisms operate the entrance doors, combining structural drama with functional innovation.
