Completed in 1992 in Barcelona's Montjuïc neighbourhood, this 136-metre white telecommunications tower was designed by Santiago Calatrava in the neo-futurist style to broadcast the 1992 Summer Olympic Games. Built for Telefónica, the tower's elegant form represents an athlete holding the Olympic Flame and stands within the Olympic park. The structure's base features trencadís, the distinctive mosaic technique pioneered by Gaudí using broken ceramic shards, grounding the modernist tower in Catalan architectural tradition. Designated a Cultural Asset of Catalonia's heritage, the tower remains one of Barcelona's most recognisable landmarks.
