Torre de Collserola is a television transmission tower located on Tibidabo hill in the Serra de Collserola near Barcelona, Catalonia, designed by Sir Norman Foster in collaboration with Spanish civil engineers Julio Martínez Calzón and Manuel Julià Vilardell. Built in 1991 by Cubiertas y MZOV S.A. for the 1992 Summer Olympics, this structurally distinctive tower combines a thirteen-story pod for floor space with guy-wire lateral support, a hybrid engineering approach that distinguishes it from conventional transmission towers. Rising 288.4 meters to its antenna tip—making it the highest vantage point in Barcelona—the tower serves primarily as a television and radio transmitter while offering public access via the tenth floor of its pod. Designated a Cultural Asset of Catalan heritage, the tower's futuristic design has made it an emblematic landmark of the city.
