Longstone Lighthouse stands on Longstone Rock in the outer Farne Islands off the Northumberland coast, a 26-metre stone tower completed in 1826. Originally named the Outer Farne Lighthouse, it was built to complement the earlier Inner Farne Lighthouse and remains active today. The structure is best known for its connection to the 1838 wreck of the steamship Forfarshire, when Grace Darling, the lighthouse keeper's daughter, played a crucial role in rescuing survivors from the stricken vessel. Now designated a Grade II listed building, it stands as a monument to both maritime history and an act of remarkable heroism.
