Built in 1902 and designed by architect George Henry Slight, the Magdalena Island lighthouse stands 10 meters tall off the coast of Punta Arenas, Chile. This modest beacon served as a navigational aid in the Strait of Magellan, one of South America's most treacherous maritime passages. Recognized as a Historical Monument of Chile, the structure remains a testament to late nineteenth-century Chilean maritime infrastructure and the engineering efforts required to guide ships safely through the region's challenging waters.
