The Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge spans the Drina River at Višegrad in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and stands as a masterwork of Ottoman architecture. Completed in 1577, it was designed by the renowned court architect Mimar Sinan and commissioned by Grand Vizier Mehmed Paša Sokolović, after whom it is named. Constructed of limestone in the form of a stone arch bridge, the structure reflects the sophisticated engineering and aesthetic principles of the Ottoman empire at its height. The bridge was recognized as a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2003 and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007, acknowledging its significance as both an architectural achievement and a cultural landmark.
