The Mustafa Pasha Bridge, or Old Bridge, is a 16th-century Ottoman stone arch bridge spanning the Maritsa River in Svilengrad, southern Bulgaria. Completed in 1529 and commissioned by Ottoman vizier Çoban Mustafa Pasha, it was the first major work of the celebrated architect Mimar Sinan. Measuring 295 meters long and 6 meters wide, the deck arch bridge comprises 20 or 21 arches and formed the centerpiece of a larger vakıf complex that included a caravanserai, mosque, bazaar, and hamam. The bridge sustained damage from flooding in 1766 and underwent reconstruction completed in 1809. It survived an Ottoman attempt at destruction during their retreat in November 1912 following the Battle of Lule Burgas in the First Balkan War.
