The Victory Memorial at Khalkhin Gol, completed in 1984 on the heights of Khamar-Dava in Mongolia, is a monumental complex designed by architect Lev Valentinovich Misozhnikov in the socialist realist style. Standing 54 meters tall and constructed of concrete, steel, and copper, the memorial commemorates the 1939 Battle of Khalkhin Gol. Its imposing form and choice of materials reflect the aesthetic conventions of Soviet memorial architecture, anchoring the site as a significant marker of the historical conflict fought on this Mongolian battlefield.
