Completed in 1566 during the reign of Shah Tahmasp I, the Molla Hassan Kashi Mausoleum in Abhar, Zanjan Province, is a brick and mortar tower built in the Safavid architectural style. It serves as the shrine of Molla Hassan Kashi, a 14th-century Shi'ite mystic whose reinterpretation of Islam's historical narratives as Persian poetic epics profoundly shaped the future trajectory of Shia Islamic thought. Designated as an Iranian National Heritage site in 1932, the mausoleum remains under the stewardship of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization.
