The Royal Monastery of Saint Clare in Murcia, Spain, founded in 1367, stands on the remains of a 13th-century Muslim palace whose Islamic architectural elements rank among the city's most significant examples of Arab art. The Poor Clares' monastery blends multiple stylistic periods: it retains portions of the original Islamic structure, incorporates a Gothic cloister and choir, and features a Baroque church. Today the complex serves multiple public functions, with the Museum of Santa Clara occupying part of the building and the Las Claras Cultural Center of Caja Murcia located in the western wing. Designated a bien de interés cultural, it remains one of Murcia's most historically important structures.
