Standing in Toluca de Lerdo in the State of Mexico, the Monumento a los maestros is an Art Deco sculptural group erected in 1928 by architect Vicente Mendiola Quezada. Carved from cantera stone, the monument exemplifies the geometric abstraction and streamlined forms characteristic of Art Deco design, while honoring Mexico's teachers through its symbolic composition.
