The National Art Center, Tokyo, located in Roppongi, is a museum that opened in January 2007 and represents the final completed project of architect Kisho Kurokawa before his death that same year. Designed by Kurokawa in collaboration with Nihon Sekkei, the institution is one of five institutions of the Independent Administrative Institution National Museum of Art. Unlike Japan's other national art museums, the center maintains no permanent collection, instead functioning as a flexible venue dedicated to hosting temporary special exhibitions and exhibitions organized by public art associations.
