Located at 1100 Old Santa Fe Trail in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the National Park Service Southwest Regional Office is the largest adobe office building in the nation. Designed by National Park Service architect Cecil J. Doty and constructed in the 1930s by Civilian Conservation Corps crews, this masterpiece of Spanish Pueblo Revival architecture was completed in 1939. Built from adobe and exemplifying the National Park Service rustic style, the building serves as Region III Headquarters, providing administrative support for Park Service properties throughout the American Southwest's intermountain region. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987, it remains open to the public during business hours, though formal tours are not typically offered.
