The New Zealand Parliamentary Library, completed in 1899 in Wellington, is a Gothic Revival structure that serves as the library and information resource of the New Zealand Parliament. Known until 1985 as the General Assembly Library, the building proved remarkably resilient when a fire destroyed the rest of the General Assembly building in 1907, yet the library structure itself survived intact. Designated a Heritage New Zealand Category 1 historic place, the building stands as a significant architectural and institutional landmark.
