The Normandie Hotel, completed in 1942 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a striking example of Streamline Moderne architecture designed by Raúl Reichard. Inspired by the French transatlantic ocean liner SS Normandie, the hotel echoes the ship's distinctive Art Deco aesthetic and originally featured a rooftop sign—one of two removed from the liner during an early refitting—that crowned its facade. The building opened on October 10, 1942, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Though vacant as of 2021, the hotel was purchased by private owners in 2022 with plans for renovation.
