Nyborg Slot is a restored medieval castle on the Danish island of Funen that holds exceptional significance in the nation's political history. In 1282, King Eric V Klipping signed Denmark's first constitution within its walls, establishing a foundational moment for Danish governance. The castle subsequently served as the venue for the Danehof, the country's first parliament. Today, it operates as a museum under the auspices of Østfyns Museum, which also encompasses the historic properties of Borgmestergården and Mads Lerches Gård.
