The Opéra de Lyon, also known as Opéra Nouvel, is the home of the Opéra National de Lyon in France. Originally built in 1831 as the Grand Théâtre, the opera house underwent a comprehensive redesign by the distinguished French architect Jean Nouvel between 1985 and 1993, undertaken in association with the scenography agency dUCKS scéno and acoustician Peutz. The reimagined structure reflects Nouvel's approach to revitalizing the historic venue while preserving its cultural significance as a premier operatic institution.
