The Opernhaus Wuppertal, an Art Nouveau theatre in the Barmen district of Wuppertal, North Rhine-Westphalia, was designed by Carl Moritz and built in 1905 as the Stadttheater Barmen. Originally a municipal theatre, it now hosts operas, plays, and notably the acclaimed dance performances of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. Severely damaged during World War II, the building was partially rebuilt and underwent comprehensive restoration between 2006 and 2009, retaining its architectural significance as a heritage monument. Located in central Wuppertal-Barmen and served by the Suspension Railway and regional rail station, it remains home to the municipal Wuppertaler Bühnen.
