The Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Centre is a modernist cultural complex in Avilés, Spain, designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and completed in 2011. Situated beside the Avilés estuary, the centre features Niemeyer's signature white, curved forms that starkly contrast the area's industrial heritage. The site encompasses multiple facilities including an auditorium, observatory tower, exhibition hall, cinema, and restaurant. Conceived in 2006 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Princess of Asturias Awards, construction began in 2008 and the centre was inaugurated on 26 March 2011. It represents one of Niemeyer's few European works and his only building in Spain.
