The Palacio de Xifré was a now-demolished palace that stood on the Paseo del Prado in Madrid, at the corner of Calle de Lope de Vega opposite the Prado Museum. Designed by French architect Émile Boeswillwald and completed in 1858, it exemplified the Neo-Mudéjar style and ranked among Madrid's finest achievements in that architectural idiom. Built during the height of Spain's nineteenth-century financial boom, it was one of several grand residences erected along the capital's prestigious paseos—the Prado, Recoletos, and Castellana—by the Spanish elite seeking to display their wealth and taste through ambitious architectural commissions.
