Located in Tirilye, Turkey, the Panagia Pantobasilissa Church—known locally as the Arched Church—is a Byzantine structure believed to have been constructed at the end of the 13th century. Built on a Greek cross plan oriented east-west, the church is distinguished by support pillars at its façades and stands as a pioneering example of fresco decoration, with its walls bearing multiple layers of paint. The first frescoes date to the early 14th century, followed by a second campaign in 1723. According to tradition, columns incorporated into the building were brought from Alexandria. Though the walls and dome remain in relatively good condition, the church ceased functioning as a place of worship following the Greco-Turkish population exchange of 1922, and a proposed restoration in 2014 was not approved by the Turkish government.
