Passeig de Gràcia is one of Barcelona's major avenues and most important shopping and business districts, stretching through the central Eixample neighborhood from Plaça Catalunya to Carrer Gran de Gràcia. Laid out in 1827, the street became a showcase for Catalan modernism and now hosts several of the city's most celebrated architectural works. It is regarded as the most expensive street in both Barcelona and Spain.
