Located at 901 E 15th Street in Plano, Texas, Plano Station is a Mission Revival style structure completed in 1908 upon the opening of the Texas Electric Railway, which operated until 1948. After standing vacant for decades, the City of Plano renovated the building into the Interurban Railway Museum in 1990, preserving its historic character while adapting it for public use. The station sits on a right-of-way now served by the Downtown Plano station of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit light rail system. The grounds feature Car 360, a restored railcar from the Texas Electric Railway. Recognized as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places as of August 10, 2005, the station represents an important chapter in North Texas transportation history.
