Built in 1888 in the El Bibio neighbourhood of Gijón, Asturias, this neo-Mudéjar bullring was inaugurated with a memorable corrida featuring matadors Luis Mazzantini and Rafael Guerra, known as Guerrita. The structure suffered severe damage during the Spanish Civil War, when it was partially destroyed in the summer of 1936 and subsequently converted into a temporary concentration camp by Francoist forces in 1937. Following its restoration in 1997, the arena has served dual purposes as both a venue for bullfighting and a space for musical performances. Recognized as a bien de interés cultural since 1992, it remains an important architectural and cultural landmark within Spain's UNESCO heritage landscape.
