Located in North Cleveland Park in Washington, D.C.'s Northwest Quadrant, the Ponce de Leon Apartment Building is a 1928 structure designed by David L. Stern that exemplifies 1920s architectural exoticism. The building combines Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival styles, featuring distinctive diapered brickwork, a terra cotta tile roof, limestone portico and trim, and Moorish arch motifs across its exterior. The interior preserves an intact lobby distinguished by ornamental plaster ceiling work and terrazzo flooring. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, it remains a notable example of Mediterranean-inspired residential design from its era.
