Standing 70 metres tall at the port of Vasto on Italy's Adriatic coast, the Punta Penna Lighthouse is an active concrete structure completed in 1948. The eighth tallest traditional lighthouse in the world, it ranks second in Italy only to the Lantern of Genoa. Strategically positioned at Via Madonna della Penna, this post-war beacon continues to serve maritime navigation in one of the country's important ports.
