A Victorian-Bungalow style house in South Los Angeles, the Ralph J. Bunche House was the boyhood home of Ralph Bunche, who would go on to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (No. 159) in 1976 by the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, the residence now serves as the Ralph Bunche Peace & Heritage Center, preserving the early life of one of the twentieth century's most distinguished peacemakers.
