The Rangers' Club is a house in Yosemite Valley designed by architect Charles K. Sumner and completed in 1920. Built as a donation from Stephen Tyng Mather, the first director of the National Park Service, the structure was intended to house the park's newly hired rangers as they assumed responsibilities from departing army troops. Designed in the National Park Service rustic style, the building exemplifies the era's architectural philosophy of harmonizing structures with their natural surroundings through rustic design and natural materials—an approach that influenced Park Service buildings throughout the 1940s. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a National Historic Landmark.
