The Refugio County Courthouse in Refugio, Texas, began as a Mission-style structure built in 1917 by architect Atlee B. Ayres. The building underwent significant transformation in 1951, when architect Irving H. Dunbar enlarged and renovated it into its present Moderne style design. Located at 808 Commerce, the courthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The listing encompasses the courthouse itself as a contributing building, along with two contributing objects, including a 1936 historical marker erected by the Texas Highway Department as part of Texas's Centennial celebration.
