Roosevelt Lodge Historic District, located in the northern part of Yellowstone National Park near Tower Junction, comprises 143 buildings constructed beginning in 1919 in the National Park Service Rustic style. Originally conceived as a field laboratory for research, the district was redesigned as a tourist camp for automobile-bound visitors, deliberately evoking a dude ranch atmosphere. The centerpiece Roosevelt Lodge, built 1919–1920, is an L-shaped one-story log structure featuring exposed roof beams and serving as the communal dining and meeting space. The district includes the 1936 store, built in "logs out" style for the Haynes Company; the Caretaker's Cabin (1924); and a Manager's Cabin from the 1920s, alongside numerous support buildings and visitor cabins constructed in varied styles—logs out, board and batten, and flush horizontal siding—spanning the 1920s through 1940s. The location commemorates President Theodore Roosevelt's 1903 visit to the park.
