Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone National Park sits opposite Old Faithful Inn, facing the famous geyser. Built initially as detached structures through 1923, the lodge was consolidated into a unified complex by architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood, with assistance from National Park Service architect Daniel Ray Hull, in 1926–27. Designed in the National Park Service Rustic style, the lodge provides dining, social, administrative, and registration services rather than overnight accommodations. The centerpiece is Geyser Hall, a log-construction recreation room measuring 136 by 100 feet with a 73-foot ridge height, its roof structure recalling Gothic wood carpentry and arranged with a central nave-like space and subsidiary side aisles. Lodgers stay in detached cabins of varying standards surrounding the main complex, descendants of tent camps established in 1913–15. The lodge remains open seasonally and is listed as a contributing property in the Old Faithful Historic District.
