Rudas Thermal Bath, located at Döbrentei tér on the Buda side of Budapest, is an Ottoman hammam founded in 1571–1572 during Hungary's period under Ottoman rule. Commissioned by Sokollu Mustafa Pasha, the governor of Buda, the bath retains authentic Ottoman architectural features including a distinctive dome and octagonal pool, echoing the design of monumental Ottoman constructions in Istanbul. The facility contains six therapy pools and one swimming pool, fed by slightly radioactive thermal water rich in sulfate, calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate, and fluoride. Water temperatures range from 10 to 42 °C. The bath underwent comprehensive interior renovation and reopened in early 2006. Today it remains a functioning spa facility where the mineral-rich waters are traditionally claimed to treat joint ailments, inflammatory conditions, and related musculoskeletal disorders.
