Saarbrücken Castle is a Baroque château located in Alt-Saarbrücken on the left bank of the Saar River in the capital of Saarland, Germany. Designed by architects Balthasar Wilhelm Stengel and Friedrich Joachim Stengel, the castle represents the refined architectural ambitions of its era. The structure occupies a site with a long defensive history, where a medieval castle and subsequent Renaissance castle had previously stood before the Baroque edifice was constructed. Today recognized as an architectural heritage monument, the château embodies the transition from earlier fortified structures to the more refined residential châteaux of the Baroque period.
