The Sabzevar-2 Icehouses are a group of five adobe and mud structures located in Sabzevar County, Iran, representing a significant example of Qajar-era yakhchal (traditional ice-storage) architecture. Built using locally available earth materials, these remains preserve the engineering techniques employed to store ice and cool water in the arid Iranian climate before modern refrigeration. Recognized as an Iranian National Heritage site, the complex exemplifies the practical architectural traditions of the Qajar period and demonstrates how vernacular building methods were adapted to meet environmental and commercial needs in historical Persia.
