Saint Joseph Cathedral, located in Tehran's District 6 north of Enqelab Street, is an Assyrian Catholic church serving the Chaldean Catholic community. Constructed in brick and stone with mortar in the Pahlavi architectural style, it functions as the seat of the Chaldean Catholic Archeparchy of Tehran, a jurisdiction established in 1853 and relocated to Tehran in 1944 under Pope Pius XII. The cathedral follows the Chaldean rite and falls under the purview of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, distinguishing it from other Catholic institutions in the city such as the Cathedral of the Consolata, where the Latin rite is observed.
